How to make rounded edges on a square picture with photoshop

1. First open up the picture or photograph you would like to work with in photoshop.
2.Go to layers and right click on it, then click duplicate layer.
3.Use the “rounded retangle tool” available on the left margin.
4.Select the area you want to have visible using this tool and which will have rounded edges.

5.Now that you have selected the area. click (ctrl + enter)
6.Then select the layer that should say “Background Copy” so its highlighted.
7.Then press ctrl+shift+i then press del
8.Then click the “eye” on layers to hide the original and the layer at the top called “SHAPE 1″
9. Done, this is the quickest way to make round edges with photoshop.
