New Powerful Twitter Feature for Wordpress Blogs

I think this plugin is great, awesome and choice. It has so much power!

I was never a fan of sites like digg.com, Delicious and Technorati. As I never saw results and here in New Zealand they never made it to the main stream media. If something can make it on the main stream media down here in little old New Zealand, it must be good.

Twitter has done this, 1st about a guy backpacking the world using twitter to find places to sleep. Then it was on t.v again regarding how popular its becoming in New Zealand and how business’s are using twitter. Its popular worldwide and its going to continue to be the next best thing. As new ways of using it, for business and personal use are found.

Time to get back to the main point of this article. What I was saying is how great twitter is and because of its popularity its very powerful. Did I mention twitter is very useful to find out what is happening in the world (Not today, like newspaper websites) but this very minute! As its user generated information you have 10 million people that are able to instantly tweet what is happening in their neighbourhood, which later on the day will be on the newspaper website and then the next morning at your doorstep in the form of a physical newspaper. (that’s if you still buy one)

Well today I installed a new wordpress plugin/feature to this blog, which is what those two green/white boxes are on the top left and bottom left of this article are about.

What happens when you click on one of those boxes on the top left and bottom left, is that if you are a twitter account holder, it sends out whats called a reTweet or as showed in twitter as RT to your followers. It includes my twitter name @roscosblog and the tinyurl of this blog post. This gets the chance to be read by one of your followers and/ or someone searching using twitters search engine. The chance to go VIRAL (Viral marketing a type of promotion of information/products that  customers are compelled to tell their friends and family) well maybe. Aswell a bit like digg.com does, there is a website behind this reTweet idea, which ranks the articles with the most reTweets on thier Homepage, which has become a bit of a news  portal with all the latest news = www.tweetmeme.com

Experiment Time: If you have a twitter account reTweet this very article tothe twitter world. Lets try and make this go VIRAL.  By clicking on one of the Retweet boxes either on the top left or top bottom of this article.

I am only asking this once, to see how it works and I will be using google analytics to measure how many new visitors I get from this experiment and will report about it, in a new post in 7 days time.
